Your Questions About Digital Scrapbooking Programs For Mac

Helen asks…

Looking for MAC digital scrapbooking software that lets you download kits from ANYWHERE…help?

I downloaded ISCRAPBOOK for my MAC and love it…however, it will only let you download ISCRAP Kits and if you download any other kits, they won’t upload properly in the kit. I want a great digital scrapbooking program for the MAC but would like the versatility of purchasing and downloading kits from any website.
Thanks for any and all replies! :)

Free digital scrapbooking for Mac?

I have a MacBook Pro, and I want to scrapbook digitally!! The only thing I can seem to find is the iRemember free trial, but it doesnt come with much, and Its only a 15 day trial, and almost $50 to purchase the software!!
Does anyone know any actual programs I can download (or even just use online!) for Mac?
Thanks!
And I’d rather use a software than use Photoshop or Elements, etc. Thanks!

I use PhotoMix on my Mac which is a Windows software and it won’t work on a Mac (unless you have a Windows emulator). After I got a Windows emulator it works great for me.

Adobe PhotoShop Elements 8 for Mac tutorials for beginners?

Please show me where I can find online tutorials for a complete photoshop noob who uses a Mac and wants to use PhotoShop Elements 8 for digital scrapbooking.

If you find a video tutorial that is specific for digital scrapbooking with PS Elements 8 on a Mac, that would be ideal. Remember this is for someone who has not used any photoshop program previously.

Thanks for your time and help!

Mac vs. PC?

Looking to buy a new home computer. We use it for surfing, family photos, scrapbooking, music, etc. No gaming or programming, but I would like to start using PhotoShop. We have always had a PC but is a Mac better?

Mac’s have a better processor?
Wrong, Mac’s now use Intel processors (and all other hardware is exactly the same as PCs for that matter) that’s why the Mac cheerleaders are so happy they can install Windows now on their crippled Mac’s now.

Mac’s don’t crash or get viruses?
Wrong again, Mac’s do crash and get viruses and crash as well… And when they crash, trust me they crash harder.

To answer the original question, take a look at a Mac forum such as “Mac Fix It”. There you’ll see the true colors.
See threads such as:
“Help with failure startup, home>library>pref crash”
“Missing files on restart!”
“PowerBook G4 – Crashing Daily”
“drt-drt-drrrt-drt and freezing.”
…And many more most people say its a “Windows problem”.

Jenny asks…

How do I download scrapbook kits from ANYWHERE on the web to Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for MAC?

I have recently downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for MAC to use for digital scrapbooking. There are so many websites that you can buy scrapbooking kits, paper, clipart, etc. from.
I cannot figure out how to add the kits and paper that I have bought already to the stock images and paper on Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. I can’t seem to find a way to import them.
The whole reason I downloaded this program was because I was told that “Elements” had this capability. I need a program that let’s me pull paper and kits from anywhere on the web not just product from the company that made the program.
Thanks for any and all help!

Linda Chambers answers:

First, after you have downloaded the zip files with the digital scrapbooking kits, have you unzipped the kits?

Make sure you unzip the kits to a folder that you can remember later.

Then call up Photoshop Elements. Click open. Then browse to find one of the JPEG or PNG files that you’ve downloaded. Open the file. Copy the file, then paste it onto a new file that will be your scrapbook page canvas.

Make sure you set your canvas for a scrapbook page at 300 pixels per inch.
