Your Questions About Scrapbook Ideas

Mary asks…

Scrapbook ideas?

I’m putting together a scrapbook for my fathers 50th birthday and was wondering if anyone has any scrapbook ideas for the different pages. I’m including pictures, hobbies and memories from different family members. Any suggestions would be grealty appreciated. Thanks!

Linda Chambers answers:

You could do a “This Is Your Life.” type of scrapbook idea. Create a layout for each child, one for the wife and them falling in love, one for all the different places he’s lived, one for baby pictures, one for favorite pets, one for his career, churches he’s attended, and even one for vehicles that he’s had – just anything that mattered to him. When you choose your pictures, sit down with him or a sibling or his parents and write down the memories that each picture brings to mind. Use those as journaling. When you’re done, this will be really neat as a family heirloom.

It might even be fun to go back to the places he was when he was young and take ‘now’ pictures to place next to the ‘then’ pictures from years ago.

You could also put a picture of a family/person that he’s close to on one page and send the page to that person so that they could write best wishes or favorite memories on it. Just provide a designated place for them to write on the page, so it won’t be intimidating.

One thing you can do to make it go faster, is use a theme. By that I mean to choose one background paper and several coordinating solids for photo and title mats. However many pages your scrapbook is, that’s how many sheets of the background paper you need (probably 50 would be good). That takes the guess work out of your color scheme. You just use the same stuff on each page; it lends a cohesiveness to the book. I suggest using a neutral color palette, so that it will go with all the different colors in the pictures easily.

Try the websites down below. The creative memories one is the scrapbooking website, and the other is for art and craft supplies. Good luck! And God bless!

Jenny asks…

Do you have mini scrapbook ideas that would appeal to 1st and 2nd grade boys?

I’m coaching a team of 1st and 2nd graders this year in a basketball league at my church. I’ve had girls teams in the past and I’ve made them mini scrapbooks and I’d love to do the same for this group of boys. Unfortunately, anything I find seems “girly” and I’m afraid that it wouldn’t appeal to them. Do you have any homemade (and preferrably cheap) ideas for mini scrapbooks that these boys would like?

Linda Chambers answers:

Someone said a paperbag scrapbook, I was going to say the same thing when I read your question. They are actually pretty neat and you can decorate them any way you would like. My Aunt gave me a whole bunch of scrapbook stuff and their were like 5 of them in the box she gave me. I think anyone would like to get one. Take some pictures of them playing and put them in the book. You can make them with as many pages as you would like and you can make them really manly…lol. Then it can be kind of a keepsake for them.

Can someone help me think of unique fashion scrapbook ideas?

***Any unique ideas on fashion scrapbook is appreciated it!***

Ok….so I am making a fashion scrapbook for this school project and I am really stuck!

I would love some unique ideas.

So far I have two possible title names:

1. Passion on the Edge
2. Passion

What do you think? If you have any suggestion I would really appreciate it.

I am also trying to think of possible categories in my fashion scrapbook.

Thank You!

Linda Chambers answers:

Well for category’s you could try different Fashion styles and give them cool names
like Rebellious Rock, Princess of Prep, Very Vintage, Vamp it Up, Brightly Blessed etc…

As for the name of your Scrap Book
Fashion Flavor, Style Savior, Passion Poison..

By using your subject and adding an adjective with the same letter it sounds good and looks great
